ire hi-fi was founded in 1989 as one of
the first sound systems in hamburg and was the leading force building
the reggae scene in northern germany. in cooperation with di iries`s,
dub me ruff, silly walks movement and others ire hi-fi founded their
first studio in the notorious rote flora. that was where the first
ire hi-fi productions were recorded. after numberless dub club nights
all over europe pensi, the mastermind behind ire hi-fi directs his
concentrating completly towards production and today you`ll find him
very rarely behind the decks. still he operates a studio with his
friends silly walks and that is where he preferably sends live instruments
through his echo chamber and original roots reggae riddims are put
on harddisc.
in the course of the years a lot of reggae brandnames visited the
studio, like sugar minott, tony tuff, u-brown, lone ranger, leroy
gibbons, mike brooks, alpha & omega, natty king, joseph cotton
and some more. only few tracks have been published on 7" labels
like ire hi-fi and landbo so far and surprisingly this is the first
ire hi-fi release in some time and the first for his old soundboy
colleagues of hong kong recordings.
